A narrow band of snow showers accompanied the front. Temperatures will drop sharply behind the front this morning, with readings falling into the teens and lower 20s. In addition, a blustery north wind will generate wind chills of minus 5 to 5 above today. A very cold night will follow, with temperatures falling below zero inland early Monday, and even into the single digits across the metropolitan areas of Boston, Providence and Hartford. The cold weather will persist into Monday and Tuesday, as arctic high pressure builds across the northeast. By the middle of the week, a coastal storm will likely develop off the mid Atlantic coast. This storm may track far enough north that its snow shield may impact southern New England Tuesday night and Wednesday. At this time, there remains too much uncertainty to be specific on the storm track and associated snow accumulations. === === === ORH Terminal Aerodrome Forecast issued 15-Feb-2004 06:21 EST === 7am: 34012kt P6sm Sct020 Bkn035; Tempo 7-9am: 6sm -shsn Bkn020 9am: 35012g23kt P6sm Skc 11pm: 31008kt P6sm Skc
