Because of the clear skies and light winds, especially inland, there was a wide range in temperatures across southern New England. At 4 am, it was 6° in Orange, while Nantucket reported 31°. High pressure will slip off the Carolina coast today. Winds will become southwest, which means warming temperatures will push into the area. Some clouds will move into the area during the day as readings go above freezing over most areas. Weak low pressure will quickly pass south of the New England tonight and early Tuesday, while a cold front works its way across northern New England. A quick shower or snow flurry may sneak into Nantucket and Marthas Vineyard late tonight, otherwise it will be dry across the region. The cold front will work across southern New England late Tuesday with little more than some clouds and winds shifting to the west and northwest, while another weak low passes well south of the area. Another high pressure center will push into New England and bring dry and cool conditions on Wednesday. The outlook for the remainder of the week calls for dry and seasonable weather. === === === ORH Terminal Aerodrome Forecast issued 9-Feb-2004 06:33 EST === 7am: 22008kt P6sm Skc 10am: 24015g25kt P6sm Bkn250 4pm: 23014g25kt P6sm Sct070 Bkn120 8pm: 22012g20kt P6sm Sct045 Bkn070 2am: 23012kt P6sm Sct070 Bkn200
