The primary low pressure center centered near western New York at 10 pm. This low will drift along the St Lawrence valley overnight. A secondary low pressure center developing along the mid Atlantic coast will cross southern New England late tonight. The two low pressure centers will combine over the Maritimes late Saturday. Snow that developed from west to east this morning spread across all of southern New England during the early morning hours. The snow then changed to sleet and freezing rain early in the afternoon. By 5 pm eastern and southern sections of the region had rain while over the interior freezing rain was the rule. Areas that had rain at 10 pm will see rain continue through much of the night with rain being heavy at times over Rhode Island and southeast Massachusetts. Those areas with freezing rain at 10 pm will like see periods of freezing rain continue throughout the night. The precipitation will come to an end Saturday morning as the areas of low pressure move off to the northeast. Highs Saturday will be in the upper 30s to low 40s. However temperatures will begin falling during the afternoon as high pressure builds in from the west. Sunday looks to be fair and seasonably cold with highs only in the 20s. === === === ORH Terminal Aerodrome Forecast issued 7-Feb-2004 06:42 EST === 7am: 00000kt P6sm Few018 Ovc035; Tempo 7-11am: 3sm -shrasn Bkn008 Ovc025 11am: 28012g22kt P6sm Bkn030 3pm: 29015g25kt P6sm Bkn045 7pm: 28018kt P6sm Sct050; Tempo 10-1am: P6sm Bkn050
