Although most of it was in the form of rain along the coast, much of the interior saw 3 to 5" of snow, with isolated higher amounts, before it ended as rain or freezing rain. Please see our public information statement which is on our web page, for more detailed information on this event. Early this morning temperatures had fallen back into the upper 20s, to mid 30s. Therefore, motorists traveling early this morning should be on the alert for icy roads. Mostly sunny and breezy conditions are expected today, as the mercury climbs into the 40 to 45° range. These temperatures will be the warmest in many locations since January 4th. Colder air will make its way back into the region tonight, with lows ranging from the teens, to lower 20s along the coast. Thursday will feature one more day with mostly sunny skies. However, temperatures are only expected to reach into the 30 to 35° range. High clouds will increase Thursday night, out ahead of a developing storm system. Snow is expected to overspread the region Friday morning from southwest to northeast. Warmer air will move in at about 5000 feet later in the day. This will change the precipitation to freezing rain and sleet across the interior, and to plain rain along the coast by Friday night. The precipitation may linger into Saturday, depending on the exact track of the system. === === === ORH Terminal Aerodrome Forecast issued 4-Feb-2004 07:34 EST === 8am: 27012g22kt P6sm Bkn015; Tempo 8-10am: Sct015 Bkn025 10am: 27015g25kt P6sm Sct025 12pm: 28017g31kt P6sm Few035 6pm: 29014kt P6sm Sct250
