Temperatures were in the 20s just about everywhere. This weather disturbance will produce a period of snow inland and snow changing to rain along the coast today. Snowfall of an inch or less is expected on the coast, with 1 to 3" possible in the hilly terrain of the interior. Highs today will reach the low and mid 30s inland, and upper 30s along the coast. A warm front will approach from the south tonight. This will keep a considerable amount of cloudiness over the region and will likely aid in developing areas of fog overnight. Temperatures will drop back a few degrees after sunset, then begin a slow climb after midnight. Looking ahead to the weekend, it looks as though southern New England will be near a battleground between cold air entrenched in Canada and much warmer air to our south. A series of low pressure areas will travel along a frontal zone from the Ohio valley to New England, and result in chance of rain Saturday through Sunday. There is a risk of rain changing to snow and sleet across southwest New Hampshire and much of northwest Massachusetts for a time late Saturday night but more likely Sunday night. === ORH Terminal Aerodrome Forecast issued 2-Jan-2004 07:49 EST === 8am: 23007kt 1sm -sn Br Ovc015; Tempo 8-9am: 1/2sm Sn Fzfg Vv005 2pm: 13009kt 4sm Br Ovc008 7pm: 20004kt 1sm Br Ovc008 10pm: Vrb03kt 1/2sm Fg Ovc003
