This provided mostly clear conditions and very cold temperatures. At 5 am, readings ranged from zero to 10 below across southern New Hampshire into north central Massachusetts, to between 10 and 16° on the south coast, Cape Cod and the islands. This high will provide mainly clear skies to start this morning, then clouds will be on the increase this afternoon, especially across southern sections. There may be some ocean effect snow showers or flurries over Cape Cod. Temperatures will struggle to reach the lower to mid 20s. Clouds will overspread the entire region tonight. Temperatures will remain very cold, with lows bottoming out from 5 below in the colder valleys and southern New Hampshire, to 10 above across southern areas. Cloudy conditions will continue on Thursday while low pressure forms off the North Carolina coast. The northern edge of a snow shield will begin to approach the south coast during the afternoon. The outlook for Thursday night into Friday calls for snow, with the best chance along the south coast, Cape Cod and the islands as the low passes well south of Nantucket. === The weather observed at WORCESTER, MA at 05:54 AM EST was: === The skies were mostly clear.
