As of 4 am, it was 11 below at Keene and 10 below at Orange. Most of the rest of interior southern New England, outside of urban areas, had dropped to between zero and 10 above by 4 am. Temperatures in metro Boston and most of the coast were in the teens. High pressure will slowly build across the mid Atlantic states today. High temperatures will be in the 20s to near 30 across southern New England today, without as strong a wind. A fair amount of sunshine is expected today, although there will also be considerable high cloudiness. More clouds tonight will prevent the mercury from dropping so far. Lows will generally range from zero to 10 above across southwest New Hampshire and northwest Massachusetts, to around 20 in Boston and along the south coast. Southwest winds ahead of an approaching cold front will raise temperatures above freezing on Sunday, for most locations south and east of Worcester. Much of Rhode Island and southeast Massachusetts should see temperatures reach the mid to upper 30s during Sunday afternoon. A high near or just above 40° is expected over the Cape and islands. North and west of Worcester, maximum temperatures in the 25 to 30° range is expected to be the rule. A few flurries are possible Sunday morning over the Cape and islands. An area of light snow or snow showers is expected to overspread all of southern New England late Sunday afternoon or evening, as the cold front moves into New England. Preliminary indications suggest a dusting to 2" of snow may fall across the region late Sunday afternoon and night. === ORH Terminal Aerodrome Forecast not available. ===
