Temperatures tumbled to the mid teens inland to the mid and upper 20s along the south coast early this morning. As the cold air worked into the region, blustery northwest winds blew during the early morning hours. Wind gusts were as high as 58 mph in Windsor Locks Connecticut late last night. Skies will start off mostly sunny this morning, then clouds will increase during the afternoon as a weak area of low pressure moves in from the west during the day. This low will bring a chance of snow showers to the region late this afternoon into tonight. Winds will again briefly pick up as more cold air works into the area. The low will move quickly east, then a large area of high pressure will build into the northeastern quarter of the country. This will be the major weather feature for the region for Tuesday through Wednesday night, with fair but chilly weather. The outlook for Thursday calls for clouds to increase as another low threatens to bring a chance of snow to the area, especially along the south coast, late in the day. === The weather observed at WORCESTER, MA at 07:54 AM EST was: === The skies were clear.
