At 5 am this morning, drizzle and dense fog were widespread, with scattered thunderstorms spread out across the region. Temperatures have been steady in the 30s. Today, the deep Pennsylvania low will drift slowly northeast, arriving in New York state early this morning, and then Maine by Sunday evening. The low will be dragging a cold front through the area as it moves northeast. Rain, drizzle and dense fog will be the rule through Sunday morning, and some towns will hear the rumble of thunder and experience brief heavy downpours. While major thawing of the snow pack is not expected, melting snow and the heavy showers are expected to produce minor flooding in low lying and poor drainage locations. Once the low arrives in Maine Sunday night, gradual clearing will take place and the temperature will drop into the teens and 20s. Scattered snow showers will follow on the heels of the low Monday and Monday night as the low drifts towards the Canadian Maritimes. Tuesday will be sunny and windy, as high pressure spreads across the region. Temperatures are expected to struggle through the teens and 20s. === The weather observed at WORCESTER, MA at 08:26 AM EST was: === The weather reported was light freezing rain and fog.
