Scattered thunderstorms accompanied a warm front from Hartford to Providence and Boston. The southerly winds pushing the front gusted between 35 and 45 mph along the coast, causing a notable rise in temperatures during the night in the I 95 corridor. Once the showers and low clouds dissipate later this morning, a rather warm afternoon will follow. Temperatures are expected to rise well up into the 50s and 60s. The unstable airmass will yield a few showers and thunderstorms late today or more likely tonight as the warm front turns around, and moves back south as a cold front. Dense fog and much cooler temperatures will sweep into northeast Massachusetts this evening and should proceed southwestward into northern Rhode Island and central Massachusetts by daybreak. Tonights lows will be within a few degrees of 40. Saturday should see a mix of clouds and sunshine and still mild temperatures in the 50s to around 60. An exception could be coastal Massachusetts where dense fog and chilly ocean winds may put a damper on beachwalking. === The weather observed at WORCESTER, MA at 08:17 AM EST was: === The weather reported was fog.
