Skies are clear across all of southern New England this morning. Temperatures are in the lower 20s well inland, and the lower 30s along the south coast. A large high pressure system will build southeast from Canada and provide the region with plenty of sunshine today. It will also result in a much cooler northeast wind. High temperatures this afternoon will only reach the upper 30s along the east coast, and the mid 40s across the central and western parts of southern New England. Winds will diminish tonight and with clears skies, radiation cooling should allow temperatures to fall into the mid and upper teens well inland and into the 20s elsewhere. Weather conditions are going to steadily deteriorate on Thursday, as the Canadian high slips east and departs the area Thursday morning. Meanwhile, a large and deep low pressure system, from the southern Rockies, will be heading for the Great Lakes region, as a warm front moves up from the southeast states. Behind the high southerly winds will transport warmer, moist air into southern New England. While temperatures are expected to warm a bit, clouds will steady increase from west to east on Thursday in advance of the approaching low and its rain. === The weather observed at WORCESTER, MA at 07:54 AM EST was: === The skies were clear.
