Temperatures started the day in the mid teens to mid 20s in interior sections, and in the mid 20s to mid 30s along the coast. Clear skies and light wind also gave rise to some patchy fog in the interior valleys, as well as an area of dense fog across much of southeast Massachusetts and eastern Rhode Island. With high pressure still in control of our weather, any fog will burn off to bright sunshine this morning. The sunshine will be with us for most of the day. Warmer air is slowly moving over New England, so temperatures will be several degrees warmer than they were on Saturday. Afternoon high temperatures will range from the upper 40s to mid 50s, with cooler temperatures on Cape Cod and the islands. A storm passing well offshore tonight and Monday will spread low clouds across southern New England tonight, and perhaps some fog across coastal sections. The clouds and a steady inflow of milder air will keep temperatures much less cold tonight than last night. The clouds will thin on Monday as the offshore storm moves out to sea. This will give us one more mild day with temperatures expected to reach the mid 50s to mid 60s. A weak cold front will swing across New England Monday night, bringing a chance of rain showers to New Hampshire and northern Massachusetts. Otherwise, the next chance of rain in southern New England will be on Thursday. === The weather observed at WORCESTER, MA at 07:54 AM EST was: === The skies were clear.
