A few snow showers were falling across southwest New Hampshire. Temperatures were not quite as cold as yesterday morning, though some locations over southern New Hampshire had dropped to the single digits. At 5 am, temperatures ranged from between 3 and 13° in southern New Hampshire to the teens across the remainder of the region, except for the lower 20s on Block Island, Marthas Vineyard and Nantucket. An area of high pressure will move across the region today. Skies will be mostly sunny but it will remain cold. Northwest winds will pick up along the shore, making for a brisk day there. Highs will only be in the upper teens over southern New Hampshire, and in the 20s elsewhere. Clouds will be on the increase tonight as low pressure begins to develop off the mid Atlantic coast. Snow will develop after midnight from south to north, with the best chance of snow falling on the south coast, Cape Cod and the islands. Lows will occur early tonight, ranging from the mid teens to lower 20s, then will slowly rise overnight. The low off the eastern seaboard will rapidly develop during Friday as it quickly moves offshore. Most of the region will be grazed with a little light snow, which will end over southern New Hampshire and north central Massachusetts in the morning. However, for coastal areas, the snow will continue through a good portion of the day. Snow will continue all day over Cape Cod and the islands, where between 2 and 4" of snow are possible. It will become windy during the day. Skies will clear over central and western sections, but clouds will linger along the coast Friday night. With strong north winds and cold temperatures, there is a chance of snow squalls moving across Cape Cod and the islands off the ocean. Saturday will be a mostly sunny day, but it will be another cold one. The outlook for Sunday calls for clouds to return with a chance of snow showers or flurries. === The weather observed at WORCESTER, MA at 07:54 AM EST was: === The skies were clear.
