Yesterdays snowfall ranged from 2 to 4" across much of southern New England, with an area of 3 to 6" reported in hampden county. Temperatures overnight fell to the single numbers across rural sections of southwest New Hampshire and northwest Massachusetts. Even Boston had dropped to 17° by 4 am. High pressure will drift into New England today to give us mostly sunny skies. It will be a chilly day, however, with temperatures only reaching the upper 20s and lower 30s. A brisk north wind this morning will give wind chills near to a little below zero. The wind will diminish late this afternoon. Clouds will increase tonight across New England as warmer air begins to move in aloft. It will still be cold but not as cold as it would be without the cloudiness. Temperatures will drop into the teens most areas tonight, except for the Cape and islands where the readings should bottom out around 20. A warming trend is in store for the weekend. Temperatures should reach the 40s on Saturday, and then rise into the 50s on Sunday for all but a few coastal locations. Although there will be considerable cloudiness during Saturday and again late Sunday, no precipitation is expected until Sunday night. === The weather observed at WORCESTER, MA at 07:54 AM EST was: === The skies were clear.
