A cold front extended southwest from this low pressure into the Great Lakes. Meanwhile a high pressure was located over the north Atlantic. There were plenty of high clouds across southern New England, mainly across Massachusetts and southern New Hampshire. Temperatures ranged from the lower 20s in the Monadnocks of southern New Hampshire, into the mid 30s toward Cape Cod and the islands. The low pressure in Quebec is expected to move east today, pushing its cold front though southern New England this afternoon. As this front approaches, southwest winds should increase and result in warmer temperatures and more clouds. Scattered showers are also expected. It may even be cold enough across the higher terrain across interior New England few snow showers. By this afternoon however, temperatures are expected to climb into the 40s. The cold front should cross southern New England by this evening. A strong high pressure center will then build over southern Canada. At the same time, a low pressure over the mid Atlantic states is forecast to move off the coast and pass well south of New England Thursday. Locations south of the Mass Pike will be on the northern fringes of this system Thursday, and should be brushed with some light snow. Further north, only a few flurries are expected. === The weather observed at WORCESTER, MA at 07:54 AM EST was: === The skies were clear. The prevailing visibility was 9 miles.
