These squalls marked the leading edge of a very cold airmass which will cover our region today. Temperatures early this morning are in the upper teens well inland to near 30 across the Cape and islands. Even with plenty of sunshine forecast for today, temperatures will hold steady or continue to fall during the day. Gusty west to northwest winds will continue this morning, then drop off this afternoon. A couple of upper level disturbances will cross our region tonight and Wednesday. Clouds will increase late this afternoon and tonight, and scattered snow showers are possible later tonight through early Wednesday afternoon. It is going to continue cold tonight and Wednesday with lows tonight in the single numbers and teens and highs tomorrow in the 20s. As the disturbances pass late tomorrow, northwest winds will become strong and gusty once again, and bring an even colder airmass into the northeast, lasting into Friday. Temperatures Wednesday night will fall below zero well inland and into the single numbers and lower teens elsewhere. The wind will make it feel well below zero across all of southern New England.
