Clouds, streaming out in advance of developing low pressure over the Carolinas, moved across the northeast during the overnight. Clouds will thicken and lower this morning. The low will continue to develop this morning, as it moves off mid Atlantic coast. Snow will spread up the coast reaching our region during the late morning and early afternoon. Snow this afternoon, will continue into this evening, then tapper before midnight. By the time the snow ends, 1 to 3" will have fallen well inland, with as much as 4 to 6" falling on parts of Rhode Island and southeast Massachusetts, including Cape Cod and the islands. Temperatures today will range form the 20s inland to lower and mid 30s near the coast. As the low moves off to the northeast tonight, skies will clear from the west. West to northwest winds will increase late at night, pulling very cold air across the region. Lows tonight will fall into the teens and 20s, and despite plenty of sunshine on Tuesday, temperatures will hold nearly steady in this range during the day. Yet another low pressure system will affect the northeast late Tuesday night and Wednesday, and could bring another round of light snow to the region. In the wake of this low, even colder air will push across southern New England. High temperatures on Thursday could only reach the single numbers and teens. === The weather observed at WORCESTER, MA at 07:54 AM EST was: === The skies were cloudy.
