Overnight temperatures were generally in the upper teens and the 20s. The Carolina storm will move up the coast today, passing offshore well to the southeast of Nantucket late this afternoon. This storm track is much farther south and east than the usual winter storm. Because of this, the highest snowfall amounts are expected to be farther southeast than usual. The most snow will fall along the south coast and on Cape Cod and the islands, where 5 to 10" is expected. Meanwhile, amounts of 1 to 3" are expected in southern New Hampshire. High pressure will build across New England tonight and Saturday. This will mean slow clearing tonight and sunny skies on Saturday. The air will remain cold, with overnight low temperatures in the single numbers and teens and daytime highs in the mid 20s to lower 30s. Dry weather, and a slight warming trend, will be with us into Sunday as well. The next period of unsettled weather will be late Sunday and Monday, as another storm moves up the coast spreading snow our way. === The weather observed at WORCESTER, MA at 07:54 AM EST was: === The weather reported was light snow and fog.
