This diminished the wind across the region, and it also brought clear skies to most spots. A few clouds from Lake Ontario survived crossing the Berkshires, but quickly broke apart over the Connecticut valley. The clear skies and light wind allowed temperatures in interior sections to range from near zero to the mid teens, while temperatures along the coast were 15 to 25. The high pressure area will bring fair weather to New England for Thursday. Following the chilly start to the day, temperatures will climb to the 20s and lower 30s by early afternoon. High clouds will start covering the sky during the afternoon, with the sky becoming mostly cloudy by evening. These clouds are partly from a disturbance in the Great Lakes, but mostly from a storm developing in the Gulf of mexico. This storm will move up the coast late tonight and Friday, spreading accumulating snow across all of southern New England. The expected path of the storm would bring the heaviest snowfall to parts of Rhode Island and southeast Massachusetts, where there is a potential for more than 6" of snow Friday and Friday night. The storm will move off south of Nova Scotia Friday night. Another area of high pressure will then bring us more fair and cool weather for Saturday. === The weather observed at WORCESTER, MA at 07:54 AM EST was: === The skies were clear.
