Precipitation will fall mainly as rain, except across the Connecticut river valley and into the Monadnocks of southern New Hampshire, where several hours of freezing rain will occur. Temperatures will rise slowly, with freezing rain changing to all rain by mid to late morning. As the low intensifies, rain will be heavy at times today, especially across Connecticut, Rhode Island and in Massachusetts south of the Mass Pike. Low pressure will exit the region later this afternoon, bringing an end to the rain. A weaker low will move across the mid Atlantic states Thursday and then well south of New England.
