Temperatures during the predawn hours were very cold, with readings ranging from minus 8 at Orange Massachusetts to 14 at Nantucket. Other cold temperatures include 9 at Boston, 8 at Providence, 4 at Hartford and 1 above at Worcester. Clouds will begin to overspread the region this morning as a warm front moves through New York state and Vermont. Dry conditions will prevail today, with perhaps a few flurries north of the Mass Pike, and another area of flurries along the south coast, including the Cape and islands. An area of developing low pressure in the mid west, will move northeast tonight into Ohio. Precipitation from this system will begin to enter the region toward daybreak Wednesday. The precipitation will take the form of rain for most locations, however enough cold air will remain trapped in the Connecticut river valley, for the precipitation to start as freezing rain Wednesday morning. As the low intensifies Wednesday and tracks across New York state into New England, the rain may be heavy at times Wednesday afternoon, along with the chance of a thunderstorm. Colder and drier weather will follow Wednesday night into Thursday. === The weather observed at WORCESTER, MA at 07:54 AM EST was: === The skies were clear. The prevailing visibility was 10 miles.
