Forecast cloudbase 300. === NWS Regional Summary - 515 AM EST FRI APR 4 2003 === A stalled frontal boundary south of New England will remain nearly stationary through tonight, which will keep the region in a chilly and raw northeast wind flow today and tonight. Meanwhile, an unusual cold dome of high pressure will build over south central Canada tonight, allowing for colder air to drain southward into New England. Low pressure will begin to develop in the Ohio valley tonight, then track eastward into the region Saturday. Its shield of precipitation will overspread the area this evening. As cold air becomes entrenched at the surface, and warmer air aloft, precipitation will likely take the form of freezing rain and sleet, with snow and sleet across northern Massachusetts and southern New Hampshire. Thus, significant icing is likely tonight and early Saturday across interior portions of Massachusetts, Rhode Island and southern New Hampshire. It appears only the south coast of Massachusetts and Rhode Island will be spared wintry precipitation, as the atmosphere remains warm enough for all rain. Conditions will finally improve Saturday night, as the low departs into the Maritimes. Dry, but unseasonably cold weather will follow Sunday. === The weather observed at WORCESTER, MA at 09:45 AM EST was: === The weather reported was light freezing rain and fog. The skies were cloudy.
