Pockets of freezing drizzle were reported in some of the interior valleys. Temperatures were in the upper 20s to the upper 30s just before dawn. The fog and drizzle will lift this morning, leaving skies cloudy today. Rain, snow or freezing rain will spread into the Connecticut valley late this afternoon, ahead of a low pressure system forming over the mid Atlantic states. Rain is expected to reach Rhode Island and eastern Massachusetts toward evening. The low is forecast to track well southeast of Nantucket late tonight, resulting in the heaviest precipitation falling over southeast New England and lesser amounts across the interior. Milder air coming in off the Atlantic will push the rain snow line about as far inland as Willimantic, Worcester and Lawrence tonight. However, even locations north of this line could see some freezing rain mix in with the snow. Mixed precipitation will change to snow Sunday morning as the low heads for the Maritimes. === The weather observed at WORCESTER, MA at 07:54 AM EST was: === The weather reported was fog.
