This rainfall will only provide temporary relief to our longer term dryness. Temperatures ranged from the mid 30s across western Massachusetts, southern New Hampshire and northwest Connecticut, to near 50 degrees over Cape Cod and the islands. The weather map showed a low pressure located over northern Vermont and New Hampshire. A cold front extended south of this low pressure through southern New England to a developing low pressure off Cape Hatteras. This cold front is expected to push offshore during the morning, bringing an end to our rain. This front is expected to be between Boston and Worcester by daybreak. Behind the front, clearing will take place as winds diminish from west to east. Expect seasonably mild temperatures on Wednesday. Fair weather will continue through Thursday night as high pressure, from the plains states, moves east toward the coast. Look for clouds to increase Thursday night when this high pressure moves over the Atlantic, and a cold front, passing through the Great Lakes region, moves our way. This front will provide another chance for showers Friday afternoon and Friday night as it marches across southern New England. === The weather observed at WORCESTER at 08:09 AM EST was: === The skies were cloudy.
