High pressure to the south of New England will remain nearly stationary today. This will result in a partly to mostly sunny day with mild temperatures for late January. High temperatures will be in the upper 40s to the mid 50s. Low pressure in the plains states will break off a weak center of low pressure that will move to the Great Lakes tonight and along the St Lawrence valley Monday. This will will do two things for our weather. It will bring another mild day to the region on Monday with temperatures climbing into the 50s under mostly sunny skies. It will also leave a weak cold front across the valley that will push down across New England from the northwest on Tuesday and Tuesday night.
