Out ahead of the front, southerly winds gusting over 30 mph, held temperatures in the 50s. Behind the front, temperatures fell from the lower 50s to the upper 30s in just a couple of hours. The cold front will stall along the coast this morning as low pressure develops off the Virginia coast. This low will intensify and move northeast, passing over Cape Cod early this afternoon. As the low gets closers, rain will spread back across the region later this morning and continue into this afternoon. Colder air will continue to filter into the area and temperatures are expected to fall throughout the day. The rain could mix with and change to a period of snow before ending later this afternoon. Look for temperatures in the upper 20s and lower 30s by evening. A few snow showers may linger into this evening, otherwise clearing skies are forecast for later tonight. It will be much colder with lows in the 20s to around 30. Northwest winds will gust to 30 mph making it feel even colder.
