Light snow spread into southern New Hampshire and northern Massachusetts around midnight, and reached as far south as Hartford Connecticut, smithfield Rhode Island, and plymouth Massachusetts before daybreak. Snow flurries were reported on Cape Cod. Temperatures at 4 am ranged from the upper 20s to the mid 30s, but were near 40 degrees along the south coast. Light snow will end early this morning in southern New Hampshire and eastern Massachusetts, and clouds will give way to partial sunshine by midday. A cold front south of New England will become stationary over the mid Atlantic states today, as high pressure builds east across Quebec. The front will move back north on Tuesday, as low pressure tracks northeast into the Ohio valley. This will bring spotty precipitation back into the region tonight, mostly in the form of snow, before steadier rain arrives Tuesday afternoon or evening. Tuesday night should be milder with occasional rain, and readings will probably rise through the night. Seasonably cold weather will return for the middle and end of the week, behind a cold front which will cross New England Wednesday. === The weather observed at WORCESTER at 07:54 AM EST was: === The skies were cloudy.
