The precipitation associated with these lows was quickly moving east off the coast early this morning. Some patchy fog was also forming across the region. Temperatures early this morning ranged from around 30 degrees across northern Massachusetts to the lower to mid 40s along the south coast, Cape Cod and the islands. As the two lows move east, they will merge over the eastern Gulf of Maine late today. Any leftover precipitation will end by sunrise. Some sunshine will break out across the region this afternoon. Temperatures will top off in the upper 30s to mid 40s. West winds will pick up tonight as the low develops well east of New England, with a weak upper level disturbance moving across northern New England. Skies will be mostly cloudy across the Berkshires into north central Massachusetts and southern New Hampshire. There will also be a chance of snow showers. Skies will be partly cloudy across the remainder of southern New England. Lows will fall to the mid 20s well inland to the lower to mid 30s on the south coast. High pressure from the Great Lakes will build east during Wednesday, bringing a partly sunny but brisk day throughout New England. The outlook calls for another fast moving low pressure area to approach southern New England on Thursday, with the chance of rain or snow. === === === ORH Terminal Aerodrome Forecast issued 15-Jan-2002 08:08 EST === 8am: 02010kt 1/4sm Fzfg Ovc005; Tempo 8-9am: 2sm Br Ovc008 9am: 34010kt 3sm Br Ovc008; Tempo 9-11am: P6sm Nsw Sct008 Bkn025 11am: 30007kt P6sm Bkn025; Becmg 2-4pm: 27008kt Sct025 Bkn040 6pm: 27014kt P6sm Bkn040 Bkn100; Becmg 10-0am: Sct040 Bkn100
