The circulation around the high was generating a relatively mild southwest wind over the region. Temperatures at daybreak ranged generally between 25 and 35 degrees across southern New England. Sunshine through high clouds today will combine with temperatures rising to between 45 and 50 degrees, which is about 10 degrees above normal. Although, a gusty southwest wind will create wind chill values in the 30s. Saturday a cold front will approach the area. A weak area of low pressure will form along the front and track northeast near Cape Cod. This will result in scattered showers Saturday for eastern Massachusetts.
