High pressure over the region will provide mostly sunny skies and seasonable temperatures today. The high will slide offshore Friday, shifting winds to the southwest with milder air overspreading the region. Temperatures may approach 50 degrees inland Friday afternoon, however a gusty southwest wind will create wind chill values in the 30s. Saturday a coastal storm will be developing off the mid Atlantic coast and tracking northeast. This storm could bring rain or snow to southern New England Saturday depending on the exact track and intensity of the storm. As the low intensifies and moves in the Maritimes, arctic air will surge into the region Saturday night and Sunday. Temperatures Sunday will likely remain in the 20s along with a bitterly cold northwest wind. === The weather observed at WORCESTER at 07:54 AM EST was: === The skies were clear.
