Some patchy fog formed in parts of northeast Massachusetts. Winds were near calm over most interior areas, but southwest winds blew at 15 to occasionally 25 mph on Block Island, Marthas Vineyard, and Nantucket island. Early morning temperatures ranged from the lower and middle 20s in southern New Hampshire, western and central Massachusetts, and northwest Connecticut, to the mid 30s to mid 40s along the south coast including the Cape and islands. Sunshine will give way to increasing cloudiness, mainly in mid and upper levels, today. Skies will become overcast tonight, with lower level cloudiness and areas of fog developing. This will result from a weak low pressure system that will be moving along a relatively stationary front southern New England. The front will move south of the area by Friday morning then dissipate. Temperatures will be near their seasonal normals today and tonight. Skies will be cloudy for much of the day Friday but some sun may begin to appear in the afternoon. Temperatures will begin to warm, into the 50s. Gusty southerly breezes will push the mercury well into the 50s to near 60 on Saturday, along with partly sunny skies. Enjoy it while you can because a return to somewhat colder weather is in store early next week. === The weather observed at WORCESTER at 07:54 AM EST was: === The skies were clear.
