The winds began pumping moist and mild air into the the region, which resulted in a good deal of clouds, and even some light rain in a few spots. Temperatures were on the rise during the overnight, and reading early this morning are in the upper 40s to mid 50s. Low pressure will move across northern New England today. A cold front trailing the low will move across southern New England this afternoon and early this evening. Out ahead of the front, a stiff southerly wind will continue for much of the day, and continue to pump mild but moist air into our region. This will result in mostly cloudy skies and a few scattered shower this morning. The showers will become a little heavier and more wide spread this afternoon and this evening as the front moves through. There may even be a rumble or two of thunder. Temperatures will reach into the 60s, except along the south coast were highs will only be in the lower to mid 50s. The front will move east of the coast tonight with winds switching to a west or northwest direction.
