Light winds allowed temperatures to fall into the teens and lower 20s. High pressure passing south of the region today will produce a southwesterly wind, allowing temperature to moderate into the 40s this afternoon. Skies will be mostly sunny with just some patchy high cloudiness. High pressure will build across the northeast tonight, then move east of the region on Saturday. Skies will be clear to partly cloudy tonight and partly sunny on Saturday. Temperatures tonight should be seasonable, with lows in the upper teens inland to near 30 at the coast. Temperatures Saturday will again be in the 40s. Low pressure will develop across the lower Mississippi valley during Saturday. This low will intensify as it moves northeast, reaching the eastern Great Lakes Sunday morning, moving into eastern Canada Sunday night. The low will push a slug of mild and moist air into the northeast for Saturday night and Sunday. Rain will spread into New England Saturday night and continue into Sunday. A cold front will sweep across the region Sunday evening, pushing the rain out to sea. === The weather observed at WORCESTER at 07:54 AM EST was: === The skies were clear.
